Brander Passes Second Paper of Advanced Diploma in International Taxation. One Step Closer to Achieving Prestigious Qualification

August 28, 2023

DY USA is pleased to announce Ian Brander passed the second paper of his Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (“ADIT”) Exam. The ADIT qualification is an advanced level credential and considered the global benchmark for international corporate taxation and cross-border taxation. It is administered once a year and awarded by the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the premier professional body in the UK concerned solely with taxation.

ADIT provides candidates the opportunity to demonstrate and enhance their credentials as International Tax Professionals by ensuring they develop and expand their knowledge and understanding of theory and practice. The ADIT indicates a high level of competence in International Taxation and a successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge in three areas: the principles of International Taxation; in-depth knowledge of International Tax issues for their primary jurisdiction; and an awareness of basic tax issues, particularly in relation to International Tax, in at least one secondary jurisdiction or subject.

The qualification is administered in modular form and is awarded when all stages have been completed, which must be done within five years. In Paper II, “Advanced International Taxation – Primary jurisdiction” candidates are expected to have a detailed knowledge of a primary country’s tax regime regarding International Tax matters.

“This is yet another example of Ian’s self-motivated drive for self- improvement and success” said Rob Whittall, DY USA Managing Partner. “Our entire team is very proud of what he’s accomplished as he is one step closer to achieving this prestigious international qualification.”

Ian is the Partner in Charge of DY USA’s Personal Tax Services Group and advises clients on a wide range of personal UK/US transatlantic taxation issues. He is a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians, member of the Association of Tax Technicians, and an Enrolled Agent in the U.S.
