Born and raised in the UK, Rob brings deep transatlantic insight shaped by decades of hands-on tax advisory experience working across the US and UK and business ownership of a small and mid-size enterprise (“SME”). As an entrepreneur in both countries, he offers clients practical cross-border insight and a genuine understanding of the technical and day-to-day challenges business owners face while fulfilling DY USA’s Keep it Human Keep it Personal Core Value.

Rob specializes in inbound and outbound international tax issues for closely held UK and US businesses and their owners. His extensive understanding of the differences in UK and US tax laws, regulatory requirements, and cultural nuances allow him to help business owners navigate both corporate and individual cross-border tax matters from a holistic perspective that extends well beyond traditional tax and accounting issues. He offers actionable guidance on organizational structure, financial management and day-to-day operational challenges.

His consultative approach focuses on exploring each client’s goals, simplifying and educating them on complex issues, and providing solutions that help protect businesses, allowing owners to make confident, stress-free decisions about their US/UK tax responsibilities. Rob’s focus on continuous learning, self-improvement and collaboration adds extra value for DY USA’s clients and professional network through the insights and resources he regularly shares.

With 35 years of combined professional experience at Dyke Yaxley Limited, a Big Four accounting firm and a top US regional accounting firm, Rob went on to establish the Dyke Yaxley LLC US office in Cleveland, Ohio, where he is managing partner. He was recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business as a “2021 Notable Entrepreneur” for his leadership, community involvement, and his commitment to supporting the business community.

Rob earned his Master of Accountancy in Taxation from Cleveland State University and his undergraduate accounting degrees from Staffordshire University and Reed College of Accounting. As a Chartered Accountant, CPA, and long-time member of the British American Chamber of Commerce in Birmingham and Ohio, Rob actively supports small and mid-size businesses engaged in transatlantic trade. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Ohio Society of CPAs.
